The Awakening

About 2 weeks back, I made a last minute decision to watch The Awakening at the Planery Hall, KLCC Convention Hall. I wanted to get the RM138 tickets but only left single seats. No choice but to purchase RM98 seats.

It's really amazing to see how they are able to dance with "feel" even though they are not able to hear anything. They rely on 2 conductors for the dance beats. Definately not easy.

Other than the Chinese performers, there were also some local performances from the OKU (Orang Kurang Upaya) groups. They did put up a great show. However, since the local performances were slotted in between the Chinese performances, the "gap" of the level of performance was really huge.

One thing I notice about the difference between KLCC Planery Hall and Istana Budaya is the style of Management! First of all, the staffs or the usherers did not do their homework, bringing guests to the wrong section of the seats. There was one uncle who actually scolded the male usherer "Just to let you know that you are not doing your job right!" His was furious that the usherer took led him to walk a big round to his seat, then U-turn and took the other way.

2ndly, at the back of the ticket clearly stated that no protography is allowed in the hall. Not only that they did not stop ppl from taking photos, but one of the staffs was taking photos with her digicam!!! Aisehman....

3rdly, they allow late comers.

4thly, many ppl were walking in and out of the hall, going to the toilet. It was so annoying lo. It happened especially when the local groups were performing. It gave me the impression that these ppl were here just for the "Thousand-Hand Guan Yin" dance.

5thly, mobile phone were ringing here and there! There was an uncle, who talked loudly in the hall, "Hello, ngo yan kan call fan lei". If want to return call later then return later la. But he kept talking and talking.

Is it that difficult to sit down, relax and enjoy the dance performance? Sigh....

Rumba Dance??!!

Some may know that we (Selangor Dancing Group) are preparing for the Dance Fest. At first, I was not one of the performers and since I have stopped dancing for quite sometime, I plan to leave it that way la. But recently due to lack of male dancers in the group, I might have to perform after all. Well, I'm ok with performing wan but it's RUMBA!!!!!

haha.... I don't have experience in Rumba other than learning the basics like few years ago. Some more, during that part, only me and my partner will be performing on stage. Btw, she's good in Latin Dance lo and I'm ..... no where near her skills. keke....

It's gonna be a huge challenge ahead, with only 1 and half months left before the actual day.

Btw, before dancing Rumba, I got to dance Rock 'n Roll too. I tried few steps a couple of weeks ago but I injured myself when I tried to flip my partner. haha... funny la...

Hopefully I can pull this off on 'd' day :)

Sungai Klah Hot Spring Sungkai, Perak

Recently, a group of us went to the Sungkai Hotspring for an away-from-town holiday.

But before that, we headed to Ipoh to meet up with KC for breakfast, then back south to Gopeng coz we wanted to visit the Gua Tempurung. Post about Gua Tempurung later la.

I believe some of you may have seen the photos of the Hotspring via some sites or forwarded emails. So, will not post it now. Instead, I'm posting the newly launched hotel right beside the hotspring park.

Well, the hotel was recently launched in early Sept if I'm not mistaken. So it's still very new. However, the only complain is the Shower. The button to switch the water to come out from the shower head or the bathtub tap was not working for our rooms. We had to press like few thousand times before the water comes out continuously from the shower head. Asked for help at the help desk, "oh, kita sudah panggil kontraktor untuk tukar. Tapi dia belum buat." Huh? Like that also can?

Once everything is settled, we headed to the park la. We drove to the main entrance. The counter officer asked whether we are the hotel guests, coz she said there's a short walkway from hotel to the park. kua kua kua.....

Anyway, the hotel rate is RM165 for 1 room with either twin bed or double bed. Inclusive of tax, 2 entry tickets (for 2 days) to the park and breakfast for 2. According to them, this is the promotion price. Normal price is about 180 i think. Btw, they also have bungalows for like 400-800 per night depending on the size and day of staying. Weekends are like RM200 more expensive.

So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia Season 2

I had been following the development of each episodes for this season's show. Well, not exactly all the episodes la. But beginning from episode 5. This was when my friend told me that our Friend was one of the contestants.

I went to watch one of the shows Live at Ruums KL and experience was cool. As Ruums is not that big, we get to watch the performance up close. Therefore, any mistakes made by the contestants were very obvious comparing to watching it on TV. Also, those cameramen tend to shoot the show "creatively" by moving about, zoom in and out, shake a bit, etc. Very the dizzy lo. I'd suggest to the producers for any dance performance to refrain their cameramen from shooting it with their so-called creative style.

Ok, let's talk about the program. Each episodes, each pair of contestants are required to perform based on the selected dance choreography. I still do not know how this works, whether they randomly pick the choreographies for the contestants, lucky draw, producers-pick, etc? Anyone can shed a light on this?

Choreography is very important for the contestants' survival in this show. If you are unlucky and got a bad choreography, then probably you will be going down to bottom 6. The judges will not say it's a bad choreography in front of the audience and also the choreographers. But probably they will say the contestants did not bring out the best in them and not able to bring out the "feel" they wanted.

I'll skip the rest of the top 20 and will share a bit of how i felt towards the final 4. The Grand Finals was held last Friday and the final 4 are Hong, CC, Black and Sim.

Quick intro, Hong is a Fitness and Dance Instructor. His dance specialty is Commercial Dance.

CC, a student and her specialties are Latin and Ballet.

Black, a freelance dancer and his specialty is Hip Hop.

Sim, a full-time professional dancer and her specialty is Contemporary.

Who did I support? hmm.... From episode 5, I supported Hong! haha.... sure u should've guessed by now that he's a friend of mine. I got to know Hong from SGM.

Anyway, based on the whole season, it's very difficult to come out with the top dancer in terms if SKILLS. I would rate the top 3 as Hong, Black and Sim.

Why not CC? Well, if you follow this season 2's shows, you'll realized that she's very strong in Latin and .....and.... that's it! I'm not saying she's not good in other dances, but just not as good as the other 3.

From what I saw, Hong is good with most of the dance genres as he's a Commercial Dancer. He has to know all sorts of dances. What I like about Hong is that his dance steps are "sharp", "light" and good with expressions. As for Black, he's creative and very good in Hip Hop. Sim gave us a surprise with her solo during the finals. She performed contemporary dance and what she did was quite risky because contemp is not everyone's cup of tea.

And the results?

Very disappointing!!

Erm.... after the results were revealed, we were like "huh?", "meh sih?", "y la?"

To me, it was totally unexpected as I was expecting one of the top 3 I mentioned earlier. Go to 8TV's Link and read the comments. You'll understand what I', talking about.

3 Judges have their own pick and Ramli picked Sim, Judimar picked Hong and Pat picked CC. But it was quite obvious that Pat likes CC and named her the "dancing queen" in the earlier episodes.

Anyway, please bear in mind that this competition is based on votes. Therefore, the winner is Malaysia's FAVOURITE dancer and not TOP dancer.

Well, she has many supporters who sent sms to vote her and probably she was able to present well in the Q&A session that prompted more people to vote for her.

To me, I'd still prefer a dancer that is versatile enough who can perform well in all sorts of dances and not just one (or maybe two la).

Anyway, congrats to the top 4 as it's not easy to be top 4. Hopefully there's no "drop eye-glasses" in the next season.

Please ignore any sms that says that you have won a sum of money and asks you to call the provided phone number. The provided number is normally an international number.

Here's what I received 2 days ago.

"Maklumat! dari SHELL Mlys. Anda tlh berjaya Memenangi Caj tunai RM17.000, Sila dial No'telipon Office:00628161108672 Penghantar:Shell Malaysia."

Would you believe such message? Are we still using the word talipon? I thought Caj (Charge) is where we have to pay? Anyway, not important. Most important is that we don't be greedy and fall for such scams.

The provided mobile number should originates from Indonesia. Refer here or here.

If it's from Shell Malaysia, why would someone calls you from Indonesia?

Beware of SMS scam, warns Shell

PETALING JAYA: Fake SMS messages purportedly from Shell Malaysia are being circulated around the country.

The text messages tell the receivers that they have won prizes from Shell.

In a statement, Shell said the public should ignore the messages as the company did not use text messages to communicate with its contest winners. It said the list of winners was available on its website, www.shell.com.my, and they would also receive a phone call informing them of their win by a Shell-appointed agency.

The winner's name, MyKad number and address will be verified by the agency.

“Shell does not require any bank account number. If in doubt, please check on the website to ensure you are indeed a Shell contest winner,” the statement said.

Water for gas?

A quick update for the MOG. Well, for average, MOG can help my car to go for another +-50kms. However, as I need $$ to purchase the MOG so I on average, I save 10-20kms for each refuel. Not a lot.

Anyway, now ppl are talking about an old technology that can help to save fuel consumption. How? By using water of course.

From what I read in forums and articles, there are 2 ways of using water to save fuel.

1. Install a water container near the engine and periodically spray some water into the engine. From what I know, this way is a bit dangerous as there must be a mechanism to get the right amount of water into the engine without causing any damage.

2. The process of water electrolysis produces (or separates) hydrogen and oxigen. This is known as Brown Gas or HHO. So there must be an equipment to perform the electrolysis which draws power from the car battery. The HHO will then be channelled to the car's air-intake. This will help to make the engine to perform better etc.

The cost for the raw materials to build those equipments are low and easy to get. So anyone wants to DIY? keke....

My second tank with MOG can go for about 510km. 20kms less than the first tank. Where did the 20kms go?

Hmm... probably I tekan the pedal too hard this time. Anyway, some say that I will see better results after the third tank. I doubt my car can achieve 100kms as claimed by MOG :(

How to save petrol cost?

After the recent petrol price increase, I tend to change my driving style. I am now driving at a slower speed and try not to accelerate too much. Sigh, there's no more joy in driving. My mind keeps thinking about how much it cost to go from point A to point B. *sien*

I usually pump about RM280-RM300 of petrol a month before the increase. Now, I have to pay about RM400++ a month. It means that I have to fork out extra RM120 a month :(

Is it time to install NGV? The best package that I found so far costs RM4300 for my car. The package consists of 65L Composite tank, EFI mixer kit, etc. According to the installer, the suppliers have been increasing the price for the tanks and kits, and the price will not go down as the Global Oil price keeps increasing.

Even if I decided to install, I have to wait till the end of July for the installation as there are now so many people waiting to get their cars installed with the NGVs. Hmm..... after much consideration, I will wait and see how things go before making the final decision.

As for time being, I will try something called "MyGreenOil" which claimed to save petrol up to 25%. Will it work? I started using MGO last week and here's the first-week results;

Full tank - RM100
Before adding MGO - 480km (max 500km)
After adding MGO - 530km

Does it look like I have saved at least 30kms of petrol? I do not think so. I bought the MGO for RM50 for 5 bottles of MGO. Each bottle contains 60ml ofMGO and I have to use 40ml each time for full-tank. Therefore, I have to spend extra RM7 for the MGO and for RM7, my car can travel for about 33kms.

Hmm... no "savings" for the first time of use even though my car can travel a lil' further. Will show my mileage again next week to see if there's any significant improvement. Cheers

Alternative to Petrol

After the recent petrol price hike, I will have to spend at least RM400 a month on petrol alone. So I am now considering to install NGV Retrokits. If I travel mostly on the highway, I can save like RM300 a month. That's a lot!

After some online survey and from friends, I need to spend at least RM4000 for the installatation of NGV kits. My car uses fuel injection engine, so more expensive. Based on the above savings, I can "recover" my 4k in a year plus, provided that there's no price hike for NGV.

So now I need to know which bank participates in the 0% interest installment for the NGV installation. Anyone has any info on this?

Are there any side effects to the car engine? Will the installation decrease the car value?

Arghhh... so many things to consider. How, u tell me....

After more than 1 month into learning Malay Dance, we have finally completed the first segment (we have 4 segments) of the dance performance. The first segment covered Inang, Zapin and Joget. It's not easy to get into the "feel" of the Malay Dance. Especially the Inang, my steps need to be softer, in other words, more lembut la.

Seriously need more practice. Other than that, our steps are not that synchronised. Hmm.... a bit tough. But we'll take the challenge la :)

CHUNG CHUT GONG WU

I was first introduced into Malay Dance when I joined SGM Selangor Dancing Group in year 1998. After about a year or 2, I stopped learning Malay Dance.

The thing is, there's a Malay Dance competition coming up and guess what, I'm part of the team!! Haha...

We had our first practice under a Malay Dance Cikgu last Monday. He taught us the basics of Inang. Not very difficult but I need to shake off the "Modern Dance style". I need to bring in the Malay Dance "feel". Steps easy but to bring out the "feel" is difficult.

We've got about 2. 5 months to prepare and hopefully we'll do well in the competition. Not to win, but to gain exposure. First time joining a dance competition, a bit kan cheong tim... keke

For the first time in my life, I went blackout!

I was on the flight back from Vietnam. I took a nap after the meal and roughly about 45 minutes before landing, I was awaken. Then, I felt that my heart rate was increasing and having a little difficulty in breathing. I also had the "nervous" or "anxous" feeling, something like panic-like feeling. I should've put my head down or squat down at the aisle.

I made a bad move, by going to the toilet. As I tried to lock the door, I went blackout! When I opened my eyes, the steward and stewardess were struggling to hold me up. I could hear the lady said "oh no" or something like that when the door knocked my head. Still very blur, they helped me to walk to the crew's seat. I sat down, and was told to put my head down so that the blood can flow back to my head. They gave me some warm water and after a while, I felt much better.

All I can remember during the blackout was that when I blinked my eyes, the next moment I was struggling to stand up. Kinda scary. I later found that there was a bump at the back of my head. I think I fell backwards to the aisle and knocked my head to the other toilet's door. I was lucky that I did not locked myself inside the toilet or knocked myself to any hard objects like the toilet bowl etc. :P

My dad had almost the same experience about 4 months back when he went blackout in the toilet and injured his forehead. hmm.... not sure if both our blackouts are related...

Anyway, i went to see my usual doctor and he advised me to take a blood test and see what it says before going to any body checkup. The results will be out in a couple of days and just hope it has nothing to do with DVT. I doubt the blood test can tell much. Hmm.... we'll see what the doc says later la....

Btw, thanks to the quick action of the MAS crews of flight MH753 and their help when I fainted. Pai seh coz cant remember your names. Anyway, thanks a lot :)

I'm currently in Hanoi, Vietnam for a short business trip. Not me making business la, but to do some testing and programming for my client :)

Had a bad experience after the plane had landed. Traffic JAM!!! The cars were not moving, not even the motorcycles. My taxi driver kept talking (not sure if he's cursing though) and worst of all, kept banging the streering wheel with his hands. Kinda scary la. The he also complained that the petrol expensive la. Normally only took 45 minutes or less from Airport to the Hotel but it took us 2 and a half hours. He charged me extra for that.

After more than 2 hours in the cab, "finally", I thought that I have reached the hotel. He dropped me to the address I provided him. But the hotel was no where to be seen. He said it's just 2 minutes walk from there. I had to walk here and there and asked for direction to get to the Hotel. Sigh....

Wanna sleep early la. Very tired. Update next time.... :p

Dancing Group Appreciation Night 2008

Post-Event Syndrome (PES)

Apparently there's something called Post-Event Syndrome (PES). The PES I'm referring to is the feeling after an event that you have focused a lot for a period of time and then after the event, you'll feel the loneliness in you.

This is not the first time that I'm having such feeling. Right after an event, we all cheered, celebrated, took photographs etc. But then when everything is settled down, everyone has gone home, then the question pops in my head "What's next?".

For example, I was involved in the Project 50 performance last year. I had to attend meeting almost everyday and participated practices every weekends. So after the performance, we all had the sad feeling of going back to "normal life". Some will ask, "aiks, no meeting tomorrow. What to do leh?" :p

But after few days or so, we will eventually realised that it is just the "beginning". The performance has ended, but why did I say it's the beginning? It's very simple. We have created a history and we must always look forward to improve ourselves and to plan ahead for next performance.

In SGM, it's not just about performance, it's about promoting world peace. So I should get back on track in "Kosenrufu" activities.

What I have learned is that we must always look forward and not to "stay" at the same spot.

Just few days ago, SGM Selangor Dancing Group organised the Appreciation Night 2008.

And after the event, PES kicked in. Then when I looked at the performers' faces, they too felt the PES. Some were happy that their efforts paid off and some felt sad because of some minor mistakes made during the performance. It's nice to see they actually appreciate their own effort and also their team's effort.

Anyway, the bottom line is that we must always look forward for a better tomorrow. Always improve one self and never give up. Cheers.

Beijing Olympics Theme Songs

Every now and then, we will hear radio stations broadcast the theme songs for Beijing Olympics.

First, we have the HK version. This song was released much earlier then the other theme song. It's called "奥运北京".

Now, radio stations like myFM and Redi988 broadcast the song "We are ready" almost everyday to promote the Olympics.

Personally, I prefer "奥运北京" and anyone have this song?

NiuZheXui 牛车水 Ara Damansara

Try google for "NiuZheXui", "NZX" or "牛车水", you will come across quite a number of blogs that mentioned about this new shopping area. You might also have heard radio stations keep mentioning about this place. NGAO CEH SUI.

So what's NZX? A place to sell NGAO CEH LUN (Donuts)? haha... not exactly, but they do have Big Apple there. Coincidence?

There's a tourist spot in Singapore that is called 牛车水 too. So I think they borrowed the name from Spore.

Anyway, NZX is the largest covered boulevard in Malaysia. It's basically a commercial area with tradings from small stalls to office shoplots. The have setup stalls with temporary tents that sells CNY stuffs outside of the NXZ. So if you wanna buy CNY stuffs, then you can go there to check it out.

I was at Berjaya Times Square recently and I was surprised to see their simple CNY deco at the main stage. Just a few deco cardboards.

Not until later that I saw this gigantic lion head facing the main entrance.

There were many ppl that took picture with the lion head.

The Lion is complete with its "body" and its lil' tail at the back. The tail is like a bolster. haha...

Year of Capable People and Development

Hello everyone!! It's new year and definately need new year's resolutions. Here are my 2008's resolutions.

1. To do my Human Revolution. Don't get confused. I'm not going to evolve into an alien or something. Human Revolution refers to the establishment of one's ultimate purpose in life and working towards the perfection of self. Read more about Human Revolution here.

2. To have financial stability and advancement in my career. So I need to stay focus and work harder to earn more money :)

3. To have better time management. I need to balance up my time for SGM Cultural activities, "straight-line" activities, family, personal life and friends.

4. To lose weight. No joke man. After working for 2 and half years, I had put on about 6-7 Kgs. So I hope to lose about 5Kgs before end of the year and also to have time to exercise at TF.

Well, here are some of my main resolutions and hopefully I will have a positive report at the end of 2008. Cheers :)

Winter Solstice Festival

Last Saturday was the Winter Solstice Festival aka Dong Zhi festival.

We had our dinner earlier coz I need to go down to Klang to watch SGM Central Region Gymnastics Group's Concert.

Anyway, here's the pic of our dinner.

The Gymnastics I mentioned just now may not be what you have in mind. You are probably thinking this type of gymnastics. Soka Gakkai's Gymnastics group are slightly different. They perform calisthenics and also human formations, etc. Will share more on this topic next time.

After the performance, me and some Dancing Group PICs went to Andy's Bachelor Nite's party. Not really a party la. Just makan-makan and chit-chatting.

Who is Aska?

If you have been following Astro's Channel 301's Super Star Avenue 超級星光大道 then you should know who is Aska Yang Zong Wei 杨宗纬.

Aska was a contestant of Season 1 and he is a very good singer. I did not notice him until recently I was told that he got disqualified due to his age issue.

When he registered to join this contest, he wrote 23 but in fact he is 29. Once ppl found out about his age, he decided to quit. Astro is still showing season 1 which has ended few months back in Taiwan.

He was considered as the dark-horse to win this idol singing contest because he not only sings well but also brings out the feeling of the songs. You can see judges, audience, host and even the contestants cried when he sings. But for me, the feeling wasn't that strong coz i was watching it via tv and youtube ma. haha.

According to the news, some ppl wanted to boycott the show if Aska was to be disqualified or quit but he made a mistake and it would be fair that he took responsible of his actions. Try to watch the episode where he officially left the show. It's quite touching. Almost all ppl in the studio cried.

Astro's Battleground held its Final last Sunday and it was between Racken Force and Twister ET. The winner is team Racken Force.

There were 4 rounds in the finals and if i'm not mistaken, the result was 3-1.

At the end it all came down to what the judges were looking for. My opinion, they were looking for Creativity and Entertaining factor of both teams. Unfortunately for Twister ET, they lacked both the criteria. However, if the judges were looking for technics and skills, then Twister ET should have nailed it. Another disadvantage of Twister ET was the number of crews in their team;- 2 where their opponent have 4. It was epecially tough for them to "beat" Racken Force during round 4's Battle.

Something about the judges of the night, it was very obvious that the invited guests from overseas spoke very well in terms of their critics and opinions. They knew specifically what was missing and what can be improved. However, the local judges gave very generic critics. One of the judges also said he was a supporter to Racken Force. I dun think this is something what a judge should say eventhough Racken Force did a great job.

Overall, Battleground 2007 was a great show and hopefully there will be more great teams in the future.

Water Disruption!!

I did not know that there's water disruption in Selangor until I heard about it from MyFM this morning. I did not find the news in TheStar so I went to check it out at http://www.syabas.com.my/. Obviously the site was very congested because there were many ppl like me trying to access the news about the water disruption.

There was this little news column announcing about the water disruption. It reads, for more info please visit the Bulletin section. So I had to click Enter button to enter the site. Waited for it to load, clicked on the Bulletin button. Searched for the related news. Clicked on the Next button. Pressed Refresh few times coz the page failed to load for few times. Finally the page was loaded. To find out the affected area, I was asked to click on LAMPIRAN which is a .doc file. It took another few minutes using Download Manager to download the 40KB file. Cant they just post the news on their very first page since it's such an important news? lawak la.....

Dis you notice their breathing sound? Especially Rainnie's song. I think both songs will be nicer if without the distracting breathing sound.

I'm not critisizing both singers, just happened to listen to their songs in the radio this morning.

Nope, I'm not referring to the Andy Lau's movie. It's about being one of the Best Men for my good friend's wedding day. Normally we don't call Best Man but 兄弟 (Heng Dai).

At first, my friend (Andy Lai) asked me to become his driver for his wedding day. So I agreed la. But the other day I saw his their planning sheet. I am the Lead Heng Dai. Habis!!!!

I am worried because his wife, Joanne Lai has prepared nicely to "take care" of Andy's Heng Dais. She even drew a map of her house and stationed few people at eat stop or station. There will be 4 stops or obstacles before reaching to the bride's room. FOUR!!! Can you imagine that? Normally it's just the main entrance right? Hers involve the main entrance la, staircase la, etc. Sure kena kao kao from her Ji Muis.

So, wish me luck and wait for my report on that day. By the way, it's on 23rd Dec. :)

Little Genting 2

I believe most of you have heard of "Little Genting" or Bukit Permai located somewhere in Cheras area. But recently one of my friends brought us to this place called Look Out Point aka "Little Genting 2". It's not too far from the Little Genting but the difference is that Look Out Point is a restaurant the serves western food and beside it there are some other restaurants.

Quite a number of ppl have blogged about this place and complained about the food there. Hmm... I have yet to try their food. We only ordered drinks. Not cheap though.

Romantic anot? erm.... not for me la. Coz the place is getting more popular and many ppl hang around and chit chat. So I would say it's a good place to hang out with a group of friends but not to relax and enjoy the view la. You'll see a lot of ppl taking turns to take picture through out the night. erm.... we took some pics too. hehe...

Run for Peace 2

SGM (Selangor) organized Run For Peace (2) on 25th November 2007. The first run was held 2 years ago at the same place. However, for this time round, no prize will be given out to the winners. The main purpose of this run is to send the peace message to everyone.

The run was divided into 2 categories, A and B. A = 8km and B = 6km. Initial idea was that A is meant for male runner and B for the ladies. But there was no rule saying you MUST run in which category.

My part in this race besides running (actually it was more like jogging and walking) was to lead the aerobics warm up session. I had been searching for songs for the past one month but it was not easy to find a suitable one. That was why I was still working on the song editing until 2.30am the night before the run. Then I have to wake up at 4am as I needed to reach SGMS at 5am+. Imagine I got to lead warm up and run 6-8km with only 90 minutes of sleep.

Reached Klang at 4.50am. First thing to do; Breakfast! I got myself a McD breakfast set. Wrong move, coz the coffee caused stomach discomfort when started running :(

Then went to SGMS culture center. Passed the CD to the audio crew. I didn't expect them to asked me to test the headset microphone so early. So I spoke as soft as possible coz was trying not to disturb the neighbours.

At 6am, ppl started to arrive. More came after that, registered and then ushered to the field where the main stage was located. At about 7am, most of the runners were in the field and then the VIP came. As usual, gave his speech and officiated the event. Me and the other Dancing Group PICs (Person In Charge) went up to the main stage and mini-stages respectively at about 7.30am.

I started of with the muscle streching and then teaching some simple aerobics steps. Finally we did the aerobics with a fast number (techno). My record of leading a warm up or dance session was 1400 people and that was during the practice for P50. For Run For Peace 2, about 3000 came but my estimation of participants in the field was about 2000++ people. It was a pretty scene of ppl mountain ppl sea in the field. It was more surprising to me that almost everyone did the aerobics together, even the uncles and aunties (hehe). However, I did a mistake with the counting for the fast-aerobics. I was trying to give the starting cue..."5,6,7,8......oops". Haha. Kan Cheong!!! But overall was fun la.... hehe

Me and others planned to walk all the way for 6km only (pai seh) and stayed behind the pack of runners. Anyway, I ended up ran, jogged and walked for 8km. Not a long distance especially for regular joggers but it was OK for me la. Letih tau! Took me quite a while to complete the run. haha...

Do come and join us at the Run For Peace 3 ya. Not sure when though :)

Samsung SGH-L760 - Price check

A month ago, the retail price for this phone was RM1099. But last Sunday, I randomly asked a mobile phone counter and I was told that the FMG set (original set) is RM999. Then when I went online and found that some forumers are selling at about RM930 (also original set). So the cheapest price for this phone is RM930. Do let me know if you know someone is selling cheaper than RM930. Tq.

Samsung SGH-L760 - Impression

Let's talk about my impression on this phone. As I have not owned a clampshell phone or sliding phone, this is definately a cool phone to hold at. I like the feeling of sliding the phone. A quick comparison to my dad's SE W580 sliding phone, I think L760 wins because of it's size and slightly less effort is needed to slide open the phone. Probably the phone itself is smaller. Therefore, L760 looks more SI MAN. It's also nice to have a thin phone (99.5 x 47 x 15mm / 92.8g) in my pocket. Normal candy bar phone will cause my pocket to be a lil buldging. But with Samsung L760, it's more comfy la. The design of Samsung L760 easily fits into ones palm. In terms of it's appearence, Samsung L760 looks more cool than the W580. Or should I say more classy because of its design, colour and features.

The colour of phone that I received is Saphire Blue. Phones that I used to own were either silver or black. So this something new and looks attractive to me. :)

OK, next is to use the phone. But first I got to insert the SIM card correct? haha... the problem here is that it's kinda difficult to open up the battery cover. Just afraid that I will break the phone since it's not mine. So got to be more carefull. hehe. Once I got the cover opened, and battery taken out, guess what? I couldn't find the SIM card slot. But of course I found it later la. To me, it's kinda hideous. But a anyway, not that I'm gonna change my battery and sim card everyday.

About the keys, they look nice and one good thing about the navigation buttons is that there's NO joystick. Kinda afraid of joysticks on the phone. Anyway, there's not much complain about it except for the last row (*, 0, #). I find it difficult to access the mentioned keys due to the design. So this will somehow gives me the discomfort when I type sms.

Software design. Erm.... i find the applications loading time is kinda slow. For example, when I click to activate the message function, it will take some time to load. hmm... is it just me or it's the phone? The switching between front and rear camera took a lot of time too. But quality of the picture taken with the 2.0MP camera looks good to me.

Picture quality, as mentioned. Looks good and small picture size. BUT, I dun like the idea of not having LED light or flash to complement the 2.0MP camera. Maybe the phone is too thin to have any LED in it. But since this is a blogging phone, I think the lighting might be useful when I want to blog an event that is under poor light condition. Well, that's just me.

Audio quality wise, erm... ok ok only la. :(

Bluetooth. This is something I would like to comment about. When I received something from other phone or Bluetooth devices, it did not show the file name. So I do not know what I'm receiving. Not that I will click OK from unknown resource but if the filename is being displayed then it's definately better la. Or is there some configuration needed to turn it on? hmm... maybe will ask the Samsung Tech ppl about this, this coming Saturday.

SMS function. Need to type a couple of sms-es before getting used to it. But no big deal. I even let my dad try out the sms function and his feedback was good!!. He normally types in Chinese and he said it's more user-friendly then his current phone (W580).

Hm.... i think that's all for now. I wanted to try the blogging function but I dun have 3G and probably I have yet to activate my GPRS (pai seh)... let me try again. See how it works. haha

No one thought it will end this way....

My cousin (biu goh), youngest son of my uncle (yi kau foo) passed away on last Friday's afternoon. I used to call him Ah Wah kor kor.

On 28th Oct's night, he went to tah pao his dinner somewhere near his house and that was when he had the accident. No one saw what happened and we did not have the chance to ask him. But we know that his motorbike's front was damaged, his helmet was partially damaged and he had head injuries.

It's not easy and nvr will be easy to see someone close to us "leave" us just like that.

May he rest in peace.

Also hope that everyone especially his parents and siblings are coping well with this tragedy.

SAMSUNG Mobile Bloggers TT Session

Anyway, Nicky and I were invited to attend Samsung Mobile Bloggers TT Session organised by TechArp at Fasta Pasta, Ikano Powers. TT here stands Teh Tarik.

The purpose of this event is to introduce Samsung's latest mobile phone that has yet to be launched in Msia. The main feature of this phone is the blogging function. Will talk about this later.

KK Trip - Day 2

We planned to go to Labuan on the second day to help KC to buy some tax-free ciggies. But once we found that it costs RM80 for the ferry ticket to Labuan, we decided not to go.

By the time everyone was awake and settled down, it was time for brunch. Went to a HK-style restaurant right opposite the Wong Kok Restaurant.

Ordered Macau Pork Chop Burger. Delicious!!

After brunch, KC, Siang and Nicky bought themselves a pair of hiking shoes each. Orang kaya-kaya ni. keke

Then we saw this group of foreign ladies travelling around the work on Mitsubishi 4WDs. I read it from TheStar that they are part of a reality show or sports.

Pretty creative....

Ordered some Gelatos since it was on promotion... bad mistake - not nice wan lo..

Dinner time!!! wu hoo!! after a failed attempt to have Lobster for dinner, we decided to try it out again, but at a different restaurant.

KK Trip - Day 1

Our flight was 9.35am. So I reached Subang Parade at 6.45am hoping to get on 7am Bus to LCCT. The bus was on time :)

Paid RM10 for the Star Shuttle service.

When I reached LCCT, none of my friends have arrived. So I had my breakfast there myself while waiting for them. 10 minutes before the counter is closed, I went to check-in. My friends reached LCCT just in time!!

We were going to "EUROPE" (notice the huge luggages??) haha...

Something to note here is that the Boarding Time for AA is different from MAS. To my understanding, Boarding Time is when the departure gate is open for you to wait at the waiting area. However at LCCT, Boarding Time here means to board the plane and ready for take off.

So as I came out from the toilet at 9am, I heard last call for our flight. I was like "last call"?? I quickly asked my friends (still happily enjoying their McD breakfast) to cabut. As we entered the gate, the AA staff told us to hurry up. hmm..... we were 30 minutes away from flight time.

Anyway, our plane landed at about 12+pm at KK Airport.

We stayed at the Promenade Hotel.

First meal at KK. Kolo-mee.

Coconut juice. We were later told that no locals drink coconut juice there. Normally only tourists.
There wasn't many interesting places to visit around the hotel area. So most of the time we were hanging out at the new Warisan Square and Centre Point.

Well, I wrote that I was involved in the Merdeke 50 celebration right? On 31st Aug 2007, our performance achieved great success and victory :)

For those who missed the performance, here are some video clips of the performance.

Someone ripped the video from TV9. TV9 actually did a better job than RTM based on the video feed they provided. RTM actually went for commercial breaks TWICE during our performance. They did not go for any breaks during other performances. They also missed our highlight parts of the performance. Really disappointed with them.

Fire Fire

After the P50 training, I reached home at 1am++. To my surprise, there was a bushfire about 100-200 meters away from my house and about 50 meters away from the first corner house.

This is what I saw at first. I went to report the matter to the guard at the Guardhouse. The guard told me "Takpe, nanti saya pergi tengok". I was like "huh?"

I went to the scene again. Called 112 via my hp. Gave my info and described what was happening. He said, "oh, tunggu ya. Saya transfer u kepada Bomba, tunggu ya".

"Hello, ini Bomba. .........."

Once again I gave my particulars and describe what was happening. To my horror, he said there was another huge fire somewhere. Therefore, there were no firetrucks at Subang and Shah Alam. "kena tunggu la".

I went home and woke my sister and parents. They came out checked what was happening.

It was very windy yesterday and the fire was intensified.

About 10 minutes later, some police officers from the nearby police station reached the scene. Few of my neighbours went to check it out too. Then I received 2 calls from the Fire Dept, 1 from Subang Jaya branch and another from Cyberjaya branch. They were asking for direction, so I passed the calls to the police officer to answer.

Then the police explained that the burning area was a TAPAK KONGSI, something like an Indon Village.

Here's how it looked like from outside of my house. Notice the TNB's cable tower? The fire was burning right beside tower.

If you are a dog owner, do you go and bring your dog and pee at other ppl's car tyres? That is exactly what my neighbour is doing almost every day. Morning and evening. He will walk his dog in the morning and evening. He normally walk his dog to my car, and his dog will pee on my tyre. *faint*. Whenever he sees me, he will walk his dog to pee somewhere else. sigh..... so sometimes I lazy go refill tyre air, cause got PEE!!! haha.....

What I'm up to?

So, what am I doing besides work? I am now involved in a large-scale performance for the Malaysia's 50th Merdeka Celebration.

The government has invited SGM to perform at our nation's 50th independence day celebration at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur on 31st August, 2007. For more info, please visit http://merdeka50sgm.blogspot.com/. There are a lot of photos there. So far there are 2 photos of me there but I doubt you can find me. :p

For this performance, I'm part of the choreography team. Really get to see and learn a lot from joining this team. They are really experienced and dedicated ppl. Gald to know them :)

Civet cat update.

The other day the officers from the PERHILITAN called and informed me that they were on the way to my house to set the trap. However it was called off because the cat was not living in my house. Unless I know where's the cat, they cant just set the trap on my rooftop.

I found out from my neighbour that there were more than 1 civet cats around!!! wah seh....

Anyway, I did not see the civet cat(s) after the day I took its picture.

DDG KL - SEL Exchange Meet (Part 6)

OK, here's the final installment for the exchange meet entry in this blog. Sorry la for being late. I was in Vietnam for a week. So no time to update. Will update some pics of Vietnam soon.

The main event was the Workshop. We were give 2hrs 15 minutes to complete a 2-minute dance.

Group 1 (my group) - The lives of Turtles. This dance was the funniest dance among the 6. It was definately entertaining. We wanted to portray the struggles of the turtles and we did not expect to win any award for our performance. However, we won the Best Choreography Award. =)

Group 2 - Harmony. Members of this group portrayed harmany through a multi-racial dance.

Group 3 - Hope. This group was very united. Their steps were very in sync too.

Group 4 - Dream. I kinda like this group as they had a creative and beautiful performance. They won the Best Performance Award!

Group 5 - Progression of Vision 2020. Another multi-racial dance but they included acts that portrayed the lifestyle of Malaysians. Nice.

Group 6 - Mission. They started off with freestyle and was kind of artistic and contemp, then proceeded with more sync steps. Overall, it was a nice dance.

I believe most of us really enjoyed ourselves thoughout the exchange meet. Really hope to have more of such exchange meets in the near future.

Day 2 - Game

2 emcees for the second day.

After breakfast, Daimoku and Gonyo, we played a game. It was a simple but fun game.

Firstly, 2 persons have to initiate a communication via "ET" style (index finger to index finger) followed by self-introduction. After which they have to play "1-2-choose" but instead of saying "1-2-choose", they say "MAMIBUMIHUM". The winner will then "lead" the loser. Which means that the loser will have to follow the winner while the winner looks for other ppl to play with. Toward the end of the game, 2 long lines will form and we'll have the final duel.

After that, I couldn't remember what I told them, and they bursted out laughing. Can someone remember what I said?

The night did not end there. We were briefed on the dance workshop for tomorrow and we grouped again based on the grouping used in the Small Group Discussion. We were give a song (randomly picked out of 3 pre-chosen songs) and we were supposed to choreograph a dance out of it. My group stayed on until about 12.30pm (oops!! we were suppose to sleep before 12pm) to discuss on the direction of the dance, its synopsis and some dance steps.

Day 2 - Ice Breaking

The game played during the ice breaking was really a good way to break the ice. Everyone was given a poker card with a double-sided tape sticked on the back of the card. First instruction was that one must find another participant and stick the given poker card to his or her back. Then they've to introduce themselves etc etc.

The coordinator gave another instruction, by grouping those with the same numbers. The game can proceed by grouping them into poker card shape (diamond, spade etc), a certain combination of numbers and so forth. Use you imagination.... hehe

Once grouped, everyone gets to introduce themselves and so on....

Day 1 - Emcee

I was the emcee for the first day of the exchange. To make my entrance special, I decided to perform an opening dance. Actually I thought a lot about this dance; Whether to perform or not? The reason were, I do not have enough time to practice and I have not perform Chinese Dance before.

The opening dance consisted of 4 dances - Malay, Chinese, Indian and Modern. My dance-prop was the red cloth for Chinese Dance. I used the cloth for Malay, Chinese and Indian dance.

But at the end, I decided to perform. The outcome??? HAHAHAHHAHA....... all laughed like mad!! no joke, especially the Chinese Dance.

The best was the Chinese Dance. I was in standby position waiting for the Chinese Dance music. Then when the music started, the audience already started laughing. I have no idea why they laughed. Next when I struck the first dance move (just like the picture above), they bursted out laughing again.

When I performed this part, somehow my shoulder was very stiff and I looked very funny. This was the part where they laughed the loudest. Feedback received for this part: "CUTE".

Indian Dance. Forgot 1 step. That also they laughed!

Modern Dance. This part ok a bit coz I have performed this dance before (about 7 years back).

Even though the dance did not work out as planned, but it was well received as it was "funny". haha..... My family members also laughed when they saw this video. :p

Civet cat - update

I called PERHILITAN (Department of Wildlife and National Parks) to ask for advice. The officer in-charge asked for my house address and contact so that they can come and set the trap. However, I was told that they have limited traps and they will come only when the trap is available!!! They also told me there are a lot of civet cats in the Klang Valley!!! wah seh....

For a fast solution, he asked me to use mothballs (ubat gegat). Just throw those mothballs around the roof area and it'll make the civet cat to go away. Can work anot wan???

Anyway, according to them, civet cats will not cause harm to human. Civet cats eat fruits and eggs. Should I stick some mothballs to the my neighbour's papaya trees? haha.....

So i was right afterall. I saw a "creature" crawling on the telephone line outside my house around midnight twice. As it was very dark, I was not sure that it was a Civet Cat but it had a long tail. Definately not a domestic cat.

Yesterday morning, I saw some papaya's leftover on the rooftop outside my window. So I thought to myself that the "creature" might have eaten my neighbour's papaya fruit on my rooftop.

Just before I went to bed yesterday, I took a look ourside my window. To my surprise, IT was out there muching its papaya!!!! Woah!!! So I qucikly grab my camera and took few photos of it...

Look closely, you'll see its back facing you.

A bit dark, but still can see its shape.

See!!! It's looking at me somemore...

It was like about few feet away from me.

Anyone can suggest how can I get rid of this animal without hurting or harming it?? It did not caused any major problem so far but I'm worried that it'll crawl into my room through my window. Haha.... So, any idea? Pest control? Perhilitan? Bomba?

Unplanned Short Trip: PD-Malacca (3)

Since there's nothing much to see or do in PD, we decided to go to Malacca instead.

Lunch!!! Went to Nancy's Kitchen. Near Jonker Street.

Nonya Cendol. SYIOK!!!! Delicious!!! Too bad the portion was too small.

Nonya Pohpiah. RM3 per piece. Not too bad. Only complain is that, they put Sambal in it. Weird.

The weather was a sunny day. Super HOT!!! So we went to Malacca's Megamall to enjoy the cooling aircond. haha.... This Megamall is right opposite the Mahkota Parade. It has only 2 floors. You'll find those normal retail outlets like MNG, Esprit, Nike, Adidas, Padini Concept Store etc etc; and restaurants on the ground floor. The IT outlets are located on the first floor.

At about 6pm, we headed back to Jonker Street.

Last stop of the day. Satay Celup!!! How can we miss Satay Celup wo. Anyway, it's a small stall by the roadside. They have only 6 tables. Which means that you've got to wait for a while before you get to eat lo. Btw, it was only RM0.40 for each stick. Cheap and nice. Cool!!

Unplanned Short Trip: PD-Malacca (2)

Next stop, the PD's Light House which is located not far from the Ostrich's farm.

It's located at the hilltop of Hutan Rekreasi Tanjung Tuan.

I think this place is kinda worth visit since it's free. Haha. The view from the hilltop was not bad. A good place to relax. However, there's no proper place for you to sit or lie down though. Just enough space for you to stand by the cliff of the hill.

Unplanned Short Trip: PD-Malacca (1)

Me and my friends went to PD and Malacca for an unplanned short trip. With only a piece of paper that contained 4 destinations to visit, we headed to Port Dickson at 9++ am.

First stop, the PD's Ostrich Farm.

So scared that I'll break the ostrich's egg with my FEI CAI weight. We were later told that the egg can withstand about 120KGs.

There were other animals like monkeys, crocs, ducks, chickens, geese, horse, rabbits etc.

Overall, the condition of the farm was poor. The ostriches' feathers were in bad condition. Not worth my RM8 for the 15 minutes visit. They should really improve the condition of the farm since it's VMY. Sigh....

Apple-Guava??

Have any of you tried Apple-Guava? If you found any, I suggest you not to buy.

Why? At first look, you think it's a new kind of fruit.

Here's what I'm talking about.

Looks like an apple right?

From far, it still looks like a green apple right?

Have a closer look. It's actually a normal guava, coated with a layer of "food colouring".

Like normal guava.

The guava have absorbed "food colouring". Btw, it's very sweet and very "chemical-like taste".

When I told my mum about it, she told me that it has been reported in the newspaper that someone complained being conned to buy the so-called Apple-Guava and it turned out to be "fake" fruits.

I'm not sure whether the food colouring used is safe for consumption. But I threw the remaining guavas (i ate a piece) away. Wasted RM5 for dua biji. Should've bought Uncle Bob instead. haha...

Stubborn

Once again, my PC was struck by lightning. It's the 3rd time already.

It was Tuesday night when it happened. It was raining and I thought it'll be OK to leave my PC switched on to download some stuffs for a short while. Then, when I was bathing, out of a sudden my house went black out. At that moment, I knew my PC just got fried!

When I went to check my PC, there was no power, and my wireless router and modem were dead too.

The next day, I borrowed Chong Sun's power supply unit (PSU) to test whether my any other parts of my pc was spoilt.

Aftermath...

Trying out with Chong Sun's PSU. When I plugged in the adapter, there were sparks and my house went blackout again. Dangerous giler.... I could kill myself then. Then when I though everything was OK, it tripped again. Aiks.....

My ADSL modem and wireless router - dead. My wireless router survived the previous lightning attack but it did not this time. Sigh....

Anyway, after all the testing, these are the stuffs that do not work after the lightning.
1. ADSL Modem
2. Wireless router
3. PSU
4. Mouse/Keyboard PS2 ports.
5. Network card.

The first time my PC got strucked, I replaced my ADSL Modem (claim warranty) and the network card (RM 20). So total lost about RM20.

Second time, about 4-5 months back. My CRT monitor and modem got fried. My wireless router survived. So a new modem costs RM90 and my new LCD monitor costs RM819. Altogether was RM909.

This time....
1. ADSL + Wireless Router = RM220 (Aztech)
2. PSU = RM 50 (chaplang brand)
3. Network card = RM15 (chaplang brand)
4. USB Keyboard = RM30 (estimated price only)

TOTAL = RM315 (minimum)

Sigh.... tiba-tiba hilang RM315.

Pre-Celebration

It's time to celebrate my bday again (a week earlier). Wu-hoo....

Well, we went to KL's Coliseum Cafe. It was so nice that Mwin became our driver that day (with her Benz somemore). Cool!! Thanks ya May Win.

We, PJ ppl wanted to go to KL's Jln Tuanku Abd Rahman and guess what? Didn't know the road. Haha.... We knew it was around the area la, but not the exact location. For example, Yvonne been there like 20 years ago and Shwu Bing had earlier on asked her father for the location. So based on the "accumulated" road knowledge and Mwin's driving skills, we managed to reach Coliseum Cafe (but not before making few wrong turnings and dangerous driving - haha).

I ordered Sizziling Chicken... sorry for the poor picture quality. I tell u, the Black Pepper sauce was syiok!! Very "kao" and hot.

Sizzling meals come together with Chips and Brocolli with cheese.

Next, we went to Taman Titiwangsa to visit The Eye of Malaysia. we took quite a number of photos there. Mostly candid shots. hehe. But, unfortunately my cam din work out well here. So have to wait for the photos from Mwin's camera. So for time being, see my potrait lo. hehe

So, the staffs came over to our side and took the cake to the OTHER side of dinner for the other couple. After which, they brought it back for Sen Lin and Henry. Talk about recycle!

Well, I think most of you know that I have been scouting for the right HP to replace my K700i. What happened to my K700i? Simple -JOYSTICK problem. I have changed the Joystick once but the problem came back few weeks later.

Anyway, there are few HPs that are in my mind right now.

SE K800i

Pros: Best 3G Mobile Phone as annouced by some GSM Convention (source: Sin Chew Jit Poh). One of the best 3.2MB HP Camera.

Cons: Possible joystick problem as some of my friends' K800i HPs have this problem.

SE W810i

Pros: NO JOYSTICK =) Good 2.0MB Auto-Focus camera. Good features.
Cons: Slightly old.

Note: My current 1st choice (White).

SE W850i

Pros: Cool slider HP. Big screen. NO JOYSTICK =)
Cons: D-Pad Navigation Key is kinda difficult to press at times. Some ppl claimed that the Navigation Key got sound. huh?

Samsung D900

Pros: Best GSM HP as announced by some GSM Convention (source: Sin Chew Jit Poh). 3.2MB Camera. Slider HP.
Cons: Simple features. Some ppl claimed that the software have problem. Huh?

Nokia 6288

Pros: NO JOYSTICK =) Big Screen. Not too bad functions. OK Camera.
Cons: Slightly bulky. Some ppl claimed that the S40 software is difficult to use and loose slider mechanism.

Note: Was my top choice.

Movies...

So far I have watched 3 movies during the CNY;
1. Protege
2. Twins Mission
3. Ghost Rider

Well, I'm not going to make review of the movies, but just gonna share what I feel about the 3 movies.

PROTEGE
Watched this on the first day of CNY.

In terms of acting, I will give credits to Zhang JingChu. Her potrayal of a drug addict was quite realistic. Louis was just a cameo to me. His role was just to show the low life level of a drug addict. Besides, he had the least scenes in the movie.

The story was also kinda realistic too as Director Yee put facts into the movie. However, there were too many parts of the movie that did not pass the censorship board. So will probably wait for the HK version.

I kinda like this movie. Reasons- realistic and managed to show the danger of drugs.

TWINS MISSION
No reviews out there say this movie is good. Therefore, I did not have high expectations when watching this movie.

Let's start with the colour of the screen or picture. It looked like straight-to-DVD kind of movies where the picture is the colour is clear. It seems that most of the Emperor-produced movies are like that. I don't like such cinematography.

Story? What story? The plot is typical and predictable. The focus of this movie is only their action sequences.

The acting was so-so. Jokes were cold. CG was bad too.

Fighting sequences was so-so too. Some HK action choreographers just don't learn. Why rely so much on the wiring untill it looks so fake?? I just don't understand. Viewers nowadays prefer realistics fights, not flying here and there with the help of wires. Sigh.... Also, what's with the fake glass? Almost all of the fighting scenes involved glass breaking. Very fake lo. I thought fights between veterans like Sammo and Yuen Wah will be good. WRONG!!! They even used stunt-doubles for simple fight sequence. So obvious lo.

Sigh....

GHOST RIDER
FOC punya coz managed to get special screening tickets. hehe....

Was really tired when I was watching this show. Nothing much to share coz to me, it's a typical comic-hero movie. However, the fight scenes and the CG could be better.

Hopefully get to watch Norbit and It's a Wonderful Life before end of CNY. hehe...

My colleague was so hungry and we decided to eat first. We simply walk walk and stopped at Ah Meng cafe.

The menu looked OK geh, so we ordered few dishes as usual. Waited for like 20-30 minutes but our food wasn't served. So we ordered Fried Sotong with the hope that will be served quickly ma. Yep, within the next 5 minutes, our Fried Sotong arrived together with rice.

However, by the time we finished the sotong, the dished that we ordered earlier had yet to be served. Sien... Rice also cold dy lo. Once again, the food and service here so-so only.

Finished our dinner at about 10. Most of the shopping complexes were closed. Anyhow, we just walk around lo.

Ok, what I'm going to share next is kinda funny and embarassing.

When we wanna go back to our hotel, the taxi queues were very long. So we decided to take MRT. None of us took MRT before, but we just gave it a try. At the station, a MRT officer came over to ask me where I wanted to go. I told him "Tanjong Pagar". He quided me on how to get to my desired destination.

I was supposed to go to Lane 5, exit at Raffles Place and walked across to talk EW train to Tanjong Pagar. Easy right? When we were in the train, I thought I heard "Raffles Place". So we exited the train. Then we tried to look for the train to board to tanjung pagar. I felt something was wrong coz we were approching NE(purple) train instead of EW(green). Then we realised we were at Dhoby Ghaut, not Raffles Place. Then my colleague asked someone to guide us. A female lady who happened to be a teacher, told us to board the train and stop at City Hall. We followed her directions lo. When we reached City Hall, we realised that the EW train heads towards the opposite direction of our destination. Sigh. So we boarded the train again, this time to Raffles Place. Can you imagine taking 3 trains to another station that is just 4 stops away? So we changed train at Raffles Place and head for Tanjong Pagar.

Singapore Day 4

My colleague and I went to walk around Chinatown on the first day. But we did not find any street that is similiar to CCK aka PJ Street. The reason was, we went to the wrong place. Haha... pai seh.

So on Day 4, we went there "again". It's actually not too far from our hotel. About 20-30 minutes walk.

There were so many restaurants there in Chinatown but we ended up in this Yangzhou food restaurant. The waitress said the chefs are from Yangzhou, China. So we went in and ordered few dishes like Siew Loong Pau, fish, vegie, dried chilli chicken, and the famous Yangzhou fried rice. Honestly speaking, the taste of the food so-so only lo. The Siew Loong Pau suppose to have soup inside right? But there was none inside geh. Sigh, among all the restaurants..... haha

As usual, we walked back to the hotel. Tired leh....

Singapore Day 3

Went to Singapore's Esplanade. Not for concert or ant arts exhibition but for dinner as usual.

There were quite a number of restaurants there but we saw a lot of ppl at the seafood restaurant. Having the thought of "many ppl = good food", we went in. However, we were required to wait for about 20-30 minutes. Naw, we didn't wait. So we walked towards the Lion head. Took some pics of the lion.

Dinner at Palm Beach Restaurant instead. One of the finest food we had in Singapore for the whole week. We had "Kang-kung belacan" aka "Mah Lai Fung Kwong", "3 seasons combination" and Fried Cod Fish aka "Suet Yue".

Singapore Day 2

Breakfast was nice coz my room entitled me to have my breakfast at 28th floor's lounge. Good service too. Hehe... too bad no pics.

Went for training at about 9am. Learn about programming stuffs ler.

Ok, after training, me and my colleague went to Sim Lim Square to but USB Hub and a USB-Ethernet converter. I was told that Sim Lim Square is like Low Yat Plaza of Singapore. It was so difficult to get a cab during peak hours (duh..) and we didn't know there were extra charges during peak hours. Have to pay extra SGD3. Since the taxi 'q' was so long, we decided to take a walk before getting a taxi.

Somehow reached this building with a nice water fountain. So we took some pics.

Singapore Day 1

Some of you might already know that I was in Singapore last week. Nope, it was not a leisure trip but I went there for company training.

Boarded a MAS plane at about 3 something in the afternoon. The travelling time was so short that by the time I came out from the toilet, we were about to land dy. Luckily I was not doing big business in the toilet. Can you imagine youself in the toilet when the plane lands?

Ok, we reached Singapore at about 4 something. We took a cab to M Hotel.

Take a pic inside the cab. They have this touch-screen panel thingy to receive sms from their control center. Btw, their cab are very spacious de u know.

I sent my car to workshop last Satuday to check on my brake pads as I'm afraid the pads might be wore out.

My car...

These are the brake pads. As you can see, the pads are still quite thick and can last for some time to come.

However, the problem was my brake discs. Can you see the problem?

A zoom-in photo. Can you see the lines? It felf like wavy patterns and these wavy lines are dangerous as the brake pads might not have a good grip on the brake discs.

A process called "skimming" was needed to fix the discs. The guy there brought a machine-like thingy and attached to the disc. Start the engine and let the wheel to rotate backwards. The tool will skim the disc surface. The process took about 30 minutes. This guy came from other company, which means that the workshop i went sub the job to other company. All together it costs me RM80 for the skimming and workmanship.

After the "Skimming" process. My brake discs are smooth again.

The foreman also suggested me to change the brake oil as it was so dirty wo... I agreed. Another RM45 there. Besides that he also suggested to change the Power-Steering oil. I almost agreed but it costs RM100. I said "next time" la. hehe. coz din bring enough cash.

All together spent RM125 + Rm1 (tax) = RM126.

Next month need to service car dy. Another RM100 and will need to change Power-Streering oil, probably the month after next.

To drive the car is easy, but to maintain.... susah dan mahal!!! No one will disagree with me. hehe...

Ulu Langat Hotspring

I went to the Ulu Langat Hotspring with my family and relatives like about 3 months ago....

How to come here? Not that difficult actually. You can come here via connaught Highway. The you see the Phoenix Plaza on your right. The you'll come to the RM0.70 toll. The keep left and turn left at the first junction (i think). You see this town after your left turn.

Go straight all the way until you see the above signboard on your right.

As you can see, the Hotspring does not belong the the government and its a private property. But why would the owner let strangers to enter his property without charging a single cent? Hmm.. I dun think I can answer that. Anyway, there's a box for visitors to donate any amount of money. The money is used to maintain the hotspring.

Something different from other hotsprings is that it is separated into 2 sections. One for men and the other for the ladies. Btw, the hotspring is located behind this surau. So dun expect any bikini-clad ladies at the Hotspring. Haha.... just kidding. But you will see half-naked MEN lah....serious!!

Here's the hotspring.... er... pool. Ok, i forgot to mention that this hotspring is not those where you can dip your whole body into the pool. You can only use the hot water from the pool.

How to "use" the water? Simple, the owner provides you with quite a number of pails and buckets for free. So you fill the buckets with water and dip your legs or hands into the hot hot water. You can bring your own pail also la. The bigger the better. Bring a big tong if you want so that you can dip your whole body into the water.

Me, dipping my feet into the hot hot spring water. The first time I put my feet into the water, it was so so hot. But after a while, you will feel very nice and relax. Syiok!!

You might think that the hotspring water will cool down when the water is in the pail or bucket. You are wrong. It will stay hot (not warm) for many many hours. You can actually bring a big water container and bring the water home as according to the owner, the water will stay hot for more than 10 hours.

According to the owner, the hotspring water has some kind of healing power. It can cure skin dieseases, joint-pain and so on. How true I dunno la.

There's a shade for visitors to enjoy the hotspring water and relax.

There are toilets and changing room for you to change, bath, and so on. Can you see the door behind that kid? (he's my nephew btw) That door will lead to the female section of the Hotspring pool.

Haha. I've been tagged by my cousin again. It's a game similiar to those chain letters/e-mails. The first time I was tagged, I was "supposed" to tag another 5 persons to continue the "tagging" game. As you can see in my blog, I did not tag anyone. I’m not sure whether she’ll feel unhappy about me not tagging anyone. Hmmm….

This time, I’m “supposed” to write down a list of 20 names and answer some questions related to the 20 ppl. One of the questions is Would 6 and 17 make a good couple? Coincidently, 6 happened to be her brother and 17 is me. Me and my couz bro? NEVER!!! Haha

Anyway, some of you may notice that I seldom forward any mails to you guys, especially those chain e-mails like “if you forward a mail to your fren, I’ll receive 3 cents from AOL la, MSN la, etc.” I don’t believe in such mails and many ppl have proven that such mails are invalid and unreal. Yet there are still many ppl who forward such mails.

Wow, it has been more than 2 weeks that I did not update my blog. Maybe I was too tired or perhaps too lazy to blog. Hehe.

Well, I have been feeling tired and exhausted lately. I don’t think it’s due to World Cup as I do not watch midnight matches. Probably I did not get enough “good” sleep. Sometimes, I’ll wake up in the middle of the night for few times. Or maybe I’m just too tension causing me to think a lot of nonsense. This means that even when I’m sleeping, my brain still “works” on my problems. It’s just like when we’re having our exam the next day and the formulas keep floating in our heads. So the next day, we’ll feel very tired.

Everyone knows that I have obvious dark eye circles. But lately, my eye bags are getting puffier and there are 2 “layers” of eye bags. I have been trying to avoid drinking water before I sleep. However, it did not help. Any ideas or ways to reduce my dark eye circles and eye bags? Please share, ok?

Headache

Having headache right now. Probably due to insufficient sleep. You might think that I stayed up up to watch WC but you are wrong. haha. It was mainly because of my faulty aircond. My aircond sometimes will creates this annoying sound while I was sleeping. So I had to wack it few times during midnight. I'm not sure how many times it woke me up but it was bad enough lo. Haha.... ok la. Back to work..

My experience at Cathay Cineplex Damansara on Wednesday..

I bought 2 tickets for the movie “Over The Hedge” for the 9.15pm show which I had called to make the reservvation on Monday. The tickets were printed with Hall 9 and my seats were F7 and F8. At 9.10pm, we went to the cinema halls entrance. I was then ushered to Hall 5. There were 2 lady staffs standing outside of Hall 5. They were both busy talking to the Walkie-Talkie. One of the lady staffs told me that they had switched hall (from 9 to 5) and I will be given new allocation of seats.

She allocated us to B11 and B12. When we managed get to B11 and B12, the seats were being occupied by some other patrons. They told me those were their seats. We apologized and went outside of the hall. We approached the staffs again and told them what had happened. She reallocated us to F7 and F8. Another staff was kind enough to guide us to our seats. However, it was 2 rows from the screen and we reluctantly sat at the newly allocated seats. 10 to 15 minutes into the show, few patrons came into the hall and claimed that we have taken their seats. They even showed us their tickets. I told them that it was Cathay staffs that allocated us to these seats. One of them went to complain to the staffs and few minutes later, the staff came in and asked us to move to 2 empty seats at the side of the cinema hall. Reason was, they had purchased tickets for those seats.

Come on!! As if I did not pay for my tickets! I too pay for my tickets. I even made reservations 2 days in advance just to get center seats and where were our seats? At the side of the hall and 2 rows from the screen.

I approached the staffs outside of the hall and asked for an explanation. Apparently, Hall 9 has been reserved for personal/corporate function. It that was the case, why in the world that they sold me tickets to Hall 9??

Do you know how embarrassing it was, to walk around the hall, switching from seats to seats? It was as if we did not follow seating numbers and simply take other peoples’ seats. At that moment, I did not have the mode to watch movie. It totally spoilt my mood for a comedy cartoon. Nevertheless, we stayed and watched the whole movie.

After the show, I went to the ticket counter and asked for the manager. One of the staffs named Ruby/Robby came out. I explained to him the situation and apparently he knew nothing about the hall switching. After explaining the whole situation, he apologized and gave me complimentary tickets. But I still did not get a proper explanation on why we were relocated so many times.

sigh....

Bad luck continues...

After came back from Malacca, I fell sick lo. Normal la, sore throat, cough and running nose. Went to see doctor. I asked the doctor to check my blood pressure. Wow, it went higher than last time. This time was 134/98 compared to 130/eighty something last time. I need to excercise more. I'm now at the pre-hypertension level. No good, no good. Maybe it's a hint for me to join Celebrity Fitness. Anyone wants to sponsor me?

Last Friday, when I reached home, no one was at home. Suddenly, my sis called me and told me that my grandma fell down and was quite seriously injured. They were visiting my grandma at my auntie's house. I then rushed to my aunt's house. When I saw my grandma, I was so shocked. Left side of her face was swollen and bruised. Her left eye was also swollen, blocking her view and her right right eye was blur. Therefore, she couldn't see us that night. Only can hear our voices. The sad thing was that she couldn't remember she fell down. This is because her memory is getting from bad to worse. hmm..... sad. Anyway, luckily my grandma is still healthy. That is the most important thing.

Malacca Trip again...

Went to Malacca on 30th of April with my high-skool frenz.

First thing to do in the morning was to pick up the gals. Then went for breakfast at the kopitian at SS19. I think I had Chow Kuey Teow. Haha. We started our journey at about 8am.

First stop was the A'Famosa Resort Safari Park. We reached there at about 9.15am. Entrance ticket costs RM35 each. We skipped the Parrot Circus due to the large crowd. We proceeded to the Safari ride. About the ride, it was exactly the same as I experienced last year. No improvement at all. What made the ride worth was what we saw at the lions' cage.

After that was the elephant show la, multi-animal show la, bird show la and cowboy show. Talk about the cowboy show. It's exactly the same as what I saw last year. Not to say their English is bad, we just couldn't hear a word they mumbled. We also went to the Monkey island via the platform-boat. There weren't many monkeys at the man-made island. Only a few. The main "star" on the island was a Orang Utan. Her name is Lisa and she's 8yrs old. There was a worker that took care of her. But from what we saw, Lisa was very afraid of this caretaker. I just hope that this caretaker does not "abuse" this friendly animal.

We left Safari park at about 3.30pm and proceeded to the town area. Guess what, we had not have our lunch. We stopped at the Satay Celup restaurant for our lunch. After that we went to Jonker Street for souveniers and ice kacang. It was still early as the stalls have yet to set up along Jonker Street. I had nyonya cendol. Wow!!! So nice. The gula melaka was so fragrant man, i tell u. We went to Tan Kim Hock to purchase some local foodstuffs to bring home. 10 minutes after we went in, they started closing their shop. Phew!! We were lucky that we arrived 10 minutes before they closed shop.

Last stop was Portugese Settlement. Problem: I didn't know the road. Yvonne called her friend three hundred times to ask for direction. It was so funny man. We rounded the area about 3 times before we found the correct way. At last, we found the "Portugese Settlement" road sign. Just as we thought we were heading the correct direction, we were movings towards the kampung area, deeper and deeper. Salah jalan!!! lawak ar!!! Called her fren again. Sigh.... We actually missed a turning into the settlement. Once there, we proceeded the seafood restaurants area. Normally we'll go to the one that have the most diners lo. But guess what. They stopped taking orders dy. Wah seh!!! Then we went to another restaurant with less people. The boss asked us whether we can wait for 1 and half hours or not. What?!!? So long?!?!? It was about 9.30pm dy. We decided to balik lo. SIgh. Took so much effort to go there only to eat "East North Wind".
